HASHISH
“Hashish” conjures many notions, but at its simplest, it is a collection of the trichomes of the female cannabis plant. Since I was introduced to hashish by Frenchy Cannoli in 2014, I have come to regard Hashish as my favorite cannabis product. The feeling of thick and heavy smoke barreling down my throat before lazily wafting back through my lips is incredible. The pliable texture of well pressed hashish as I caress and massage the mass into a templeball is inimitable. The delight of well made hashish bubbling as it is heated is supremely satisfying.

HASHISH (SOLVENTLESS) CONSULTATION
ICE WATER HASH MAKING
Every organization has its own thrust and mission, but at the end of the day, everyone is looking for high quality hash resin. There are thousands of videos and tutorials online attempting to teach the finer points of high quality hash making. It is pretty simple
- Start with good material
- Put material in machine
- Fill with ice and water
- Agitate
- Allow water to drain
- Clean resin in bags
- Remove resin from bags
- Dry resin
That’s it!
However, what makes the difference between 3 star, 4 star, 5 star, and 6 star hash? Countless subtleties and nuances surround the creation of the most phenomenal melt. I learned from direct hands on experience from Frenchy Cannoli. Theroretical knowledge cannot compare to practical application. Therefore, I offer onsite hash making education and consultation to all legal and licensed facilities in California and across the globe. It is my intention to make hash with local material in every country possible. I’ve already branched out to Spain, so I am certainly on my way.
Provided that your facility is properly equipped (at least two small machines, bubble bags, reverse osmosis water, pumps, deep freezers, cisterns, and a freeze dryer), I will, over the course of 3 days, instruct and guide your employees on how to make the highest quality hash that your material can produce. I will leave your organization with a thorough SOP so that your employees can continue collecting with the utmost precision and care.
My consulting credits include teaching hashmaking at Mission Nurseries in Patterson, California, Drip Melts in OKC, Oklahoma, Green Prairie Farms in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Cookies Maywood, the Los Angeles extension of the iconic Cookies SF name. We washed Lemoncello and their newest dank offering, Snowman OG. Using dried and cured material that had been stored in the the deep freezer, we produced fat white patties that blew my mind. We had the most brilliant resin in even the 45 micron bag on the 3rd wash! If my incredulity is going right over your head, that’s a clue that your organization just might need me. I will separate the wheat from the chaff and completely explain the difference. I am not here to provide you a meal, but rather to teach you what and how to cook.
DRY SIFT AND STATIC TECH
Your organization may want to go a more traditional route to create cannabis concentrates via dry sift. One of the most exclusive types of resin collection, dry sift is ideal for terpene retention. Since the material never touches the water, water-soluble terpenes are not lost in the hash making process. Though the process has become more modern with standardized screen sizes, the main concept remains the same – using a system of varied screen size, resin of particular sizes can be collected, isolated, and further refined to create an abundance of 6-star product. Requiring far less space and initial investment than Ice Water Hash Making, dry sift is a great option for small-batch, high-quality concentrate processing.
HASHISH (SOLVENTLESS) EDUCATION
Over the past seven years, I have had the privilege to learn from every single hashmaker about whom I have written a story. From Frenchy I received my foundation of knowledge. While consulting for Tony Verzura of Blue River Terpenes, I was able to dial in my freeze drying techniques. From Cuban Hash Queen I learned dry sifting. And from dozens of others, I learned a myriad of techniques that have coalesced into my personal technique that I call “The Duch Touch.”
From the beginning, almost immediately after grasping a concept, I have been eager to teach it to others because t truly believe that ignorance is the most stifling prison. Using social media (predominantly Instagram and YouTube), I have taught hundreds of thousands of people both the fundamentals, as well as, advanced techniques for collecting the finest quality hash. I understand that everyone does not have access to walk-in washrooms and the most top tier equipment that you would expect in the highest quality solventless lab. However, by staying true to constants (choosing ideal cultivars, keeping the material, environment, water, and tools cold, and quality over quantity), students can create very good quality hash in small batches from their own gardens. Sweet!

As convenient as is learning virtually, I believe that hands-on training is the only way to ensure that the theory translates into good practice. During my workshops students are afforded the opportunity to watch me complete 1 or 2 runs of the material before they wash the material themselves; heeding my constant, but gentle, instruction. Few feelings are as delightful as seeing the ideas and principles really start to sink in as the students create the best hash possible. And being a lover of pressed hash, no class of mine would be complete without learning how to press a temple ball ideal for aging.
To date, I have taught classes and workshops in California (US), Oklahoma (US), Washington D.C. (US), San Miguel de Allende (Mexico), Mexico City (Mexico), Barcelona (Spain). On October 10th, I have a class in Queens, New York. Please reach out to @genetraders on Instagram for more information.
