Ever since the fine gentlemen at La Asociación Kalada introduced me to smoking the chillum back in September 2016, I have been in love.  Though the chillum pipe is the oldest tool known for smoking cannabis, it is only recently that its use has been revived and it is beginning to be appreciated here in the United States.

Cannabis helps and cannabis heals, but my absolute favorite aspect of consuming cannabis is the knitting of social fabric between people within the chillum circle.  I have developed my own chillum ceremony which aims to infuse the participants with a sense of intimate belonging and increase knowledge of self.  Within the ceremony there is a component of breath work, meditation, and mindfulness.

For newbie and veteran smokers alike, smoking the chillum is unlike any other experience.  Using the highest grade of cannabis flower, I mix in my own organic Hashish to add massive fuel to the fire.  People often relate a feeling of chest and mind expansion.  Inner conversation is quieted as effort is put into timing inhales and exhales to get maximum effect of the thick, blue smoke.
