Dank for Dankness Sake
I walked into this hashmaking game totally fresh faced and a bit reluctantly, but I definitely wanted the opportunity to write for a magazine I had read for years. In effort to prepare me to be able to talk eloquently about Hashish, Frenchy poured his dedication into teaching me; dazzling me with stories and patiently answering every question. I eventually came to appreciate the conversation that we hashmakers have with the material, the ice, and the water. However, I took to the pressing action right off the bat. To tell the truth, it is the moments of yielding that is the crux of my enjoyment. When dried resin is piled together and rolled with hot glass, it fuses together. Once thoroughly pressed, the mass of resin is ripped swiftly from parchment or polyurethane in one fell swoop. The warm mass is then massaged into a beautiful specimen of dankness. Allowed to relax, the oil expresses and oozes through the surface. How can I not fall in love with the gleam and sparkle of unapologetic dankness.
